Privacy
PoolCheck is a free backyard pool test-strip reader owned by Chris Daniels. Tests stay on this device. We do not sell your data.
On this device
Camera frames and photos of test strips are read in the browser. Those frames are not uploaded. Dated test history, pool size, brand, and ZIP stay in this browser under an automatic on-device profile. There is no sign-up, no password, and no backend account.
What can leave the device
If you type a ZIP, that ZIP is sent to Zippopotam.us (place lookup) and Open-Meteo (forecast) for the quiet weather strip. Netlify hosts the site and sees ordinary web logs. Later, Google Play Billing may see a one-time $4.99 remove-ads purchase (SKU poolcheck_remove_ads), and leftover ad fill may use AdMob. A Play purchase-status flag can be stored on this device so ads stay off.
Ads and the $4.99 purchase
The results page shows pool-aisle brand slots we sell directly, or a PoolCheck tip. In the PoolCheck Android app (version 1.0.8 and later), Google AdMob may show an ad below the page. AdMob can use your device's advertising ID, IP address, and app interaction data to serve, limit, and measure ads; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Where required (for example the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads, and you can change that choice later. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. A $4.99 one-time in-app purchase through Google Play Billing (or the App Store on iOS) removes ads. We do not use test readings to target ads. This web page itself does not load an ad SDK.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell photos, readings, history, or ZIP codes.
Children
PoolCheck is for homeowners. It is not directed at children under 13.
Delete local data
Swipe left on a history row to delete that test. Clear this site’s data (or uninstall the app) to wipe history, saved pool details, and any remove-ads flag. We cannot delete what we never received.
